About us

Apogee Data Consulting became a licensed partner of Ordnance Survey (OS) in July 2005.  This enables Apogee to sell OS digital data products at a lower cost than if purchased from OS direct.

Digital data for use in GIS systems fall into two broad categories: VECTOR and RASTER.  The type of data required depends on the purpose for which it is to be used.

VECTOR DATAVector map data is created on computer. Individual map features such as roads, buildings and rivers are represented as points, lines and polygons.  Therefore individual features can be selected and interrogated within a GIS system.  For more information click here.
RASTER DATARaster data are cell-based spatial datasets, consisting of a regular grid of cells which cover an area.  Raster datasets are best used as a background on which to display other data.  Examples of raster formats are: jpeg and tiff files.  For more information click here.

If you would like to place an order for OS digital data products with Apogee Data Consulting then please select "Order Process" and follow the instructions.  However, if you require further assistance/advice in selecting appropriate datasets before placing an order please fill in your details on our feedback form; a GIS Consultant will contact you to discuss your individual requirements.  Alternatively you can use Apogee's contact details to get in touch.
