Vector Data

Vector map data is created on computer. Individual map features such as roads, buildings and rivers are represented as points, lines and polygons. Therefore individual features can be selected and interrogated within a GIS system. Below is a list of the OS vector datasets that are currently available from Apogee Data Consulting:

Code-Point®

Code-Point^® provides a precise geographical location for each postcode unit in Great Britain. There are approximately 1.7 million postcode units in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Code-Point^® OpenData is now available through OS OpenData.  However, not all fields are included and Northern Ireland postcodes are omitted.

Code-Point® Polygons

Code-Point^® Polygons provides a polygon for each unit postcode in England, Scotland and Wales.

Strategi^® is detailed digital map data, ideal for applications requiring an overview of geographical information on England, Scotland and Wales. It is derived from the Ordnance Survey 1:250 000 scale topographic database and provides mapping for applications requiring a regional overview.

Boundary-Line™

Boundary-Line™ is a specialist dataset of voting and administrative boundaries. It provides a full hierarchy of boundaries, from district, wards and civil parishes (or communities) up to parliamentary, assembly and European constituencies.
